 Important Information

  • Upcoming trip on the 30th April. Please ensure you have returned your child’s permission slip if you with for them to attend.
  • PE days on Fridays. Please ensure your child is dressed in appropriate PE wear and earrings are removed.
  • Please ensure children are engaging with TT Rock Stars to support them in preparation for the upcoming Times Table check.

Our Learning Journey

Below you will find out about our learning journey over the last term.  Please click on any document links for further information.

English

In English Year 4 have been reading ‘The Last Bear' written by Hannah Gold. Our English writing tasks will be based around this book and the children write some fantastic pieces of writing on it!

 

We are working on the skills in our I Am a Clever Writer checklist. This includes:

  • Using fronted adverbials
  • Using short sentences
  • Using conjunctions for cause
  • Using similes and metaphors
  • Using casual conjunctions

Maths

In Maths so far this half term we have been exploring multiplication and division, position and direction and geometry. The children will be looking at coordinates to help plot points and also be reflecting patterns of shapes through lines of symmetry.

Maths at Meadow View

Curriculum 

This half term in History we are looking at the Ancient Romans. We will travel back in time to see how The Romans would have lived all those years ago. We will compare similarities and differences  on how life was lived back then in Celtic and Roman settlements compared to how we live our life today! 

Science

In Science this half term, we are learning about how we can group different animals.

 

We will learn about how to classify different species of animals and what makes them different.
